Introduction to Statistics

This course aims to introduce students to the basic concepts of descriptive statistics and to familiarize them with the application of statistical analysis methods in various areas, with emphasis on Administration and Finance sector.
The course includes descriptive statistical analysis of one and two variables and studying relationships between variables Finally, it introduces students to the basic principles of probability and probability distributions and gives the necessary knowledge to understand inferential statistics.
Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to:

discuss the meaning and the necessity and usefulness of statistics.

Collect data using sampling techniques.

organize and present quantitative and qualitative data.

calculate numerical measures and make conclusions about the data.

analyzing the correlation of two variables and organizing categorical data into 2way tables

apply Probability Theory to solve problems in Administration and Economy
