The students are trained to acquire the basic knowledge of the infrastructure that is necessary and necessary to possess in order to be able to successfully cultivate the fruit trees that thrive and are cultivated commercially in our country. It should be pointed out here that the cultivation of fruit trees, apart from being of great economic importance and significance, requires specialised knowledge and techniques, since most cultivation work can only be done manually, unlike annual crops, where almost all the work is done mechanically. Moreover, tree crops are a multiannual investment, they do not pay off immediately after establishment (unlike annual crops) but after a few years and have high establishment and maintenance costs. Furthermore, students are trained to be able to keep up to date, update their knowledge and adapt to new cultivation techniques and methods, as the science of horticulture is evolving rapidly (new varieties and rootstocks, new patterns of tree formation and fruiting, interventions with phytoregulatory substances, etc.) so that they can create modern and competitive orchards.
