Receiver modelling: shot noise, thermal noise, Q factor, error probability. Indoor optical wireless channel: intersymbol interference, link budget, artificial light interference. Outdoor optical wireless channel: transmission losses, fading, link budget, outage probability, average probability of error. Personal communication standards (IrDA). Visible light communication standard (IEEE 802.15.7).
