The Department of Informatics and Telecommunications offers a PhD Program in Informatics and Telecommunications. The following subject areas are offered:
- Theoretical Computer Science
- Wireless and Mobile Telecommunications
- Communication Networks and Network Applications
- Software Systems
- Computer Hardware and Networks
- Computational Science
- Digital Signal and Image Processing
- Optical Communications
The goals of the program are summarized as follows:
- The promotion of knowledge and the development of research in Informatics and Telecommunications and related fields.
- The creation of researchers that possess a PhD degree and that are capable of contributing to the promotion of research, technology and tertiary education in the field of Informatics and Telecommunications.
Note that at this moment approximately thirty PhD candidates serve in the Department.
Admission Criteria and Deadline for Applications
Holders of a MSc degree of the Department or holders of other MSc degrees in a similar subject are accepted in the PhD program. Applications for admission to the program may be submitted any time during the academic year.
