Ευγένιος Σκούρας έχει εκτενή ερευνητική εμπειρία σε 9 προγράμματα που χρηματοδοτούνται από την Ελλάδα (ελληνικά) και 9 από την ΕΕ, επιπλέον σε 5 προγράμματα που χρηματοδοτούνται από τη βιομηχανία. Οι τομείς ενδιαφέροντος περιλαμβάνουν τη μελέτη διεργασιών και την προσομοίωση της ροής υγρών, της διάχυσης και της ρόφησης σε κλίμακες, όπως στην Μηχανική με Υπολογιστή (CAE) και στην Υπολογιστική Ρευστοδυναμική (CFD με μεθόδους FEM και Meshless) στην HemoDynamics [τάξη (cm)], όπως καθώς και στη ροή νερού, λαδιού και αέρα, μεταφορά και ρόφηση, στη μεταφορά ψύξης/θερμότητας, στη MagnetoHydroDynamics [Ο(m)] και στα νανορευστά [O(nm-mm)], κοντά σε πορώδεις (νανο)κεραμικούς ημιαγωγούς, αισθητήρες και πορώδεις μεμβράνες [O(nm–µm)], συγκράτηση και διαχωρισμός σωματιδίων σε κοκκώδη φίλτρα [Ο(μm–mm)] και διασπορά ρύπων σε υπόγειους σχηματισμούς [Ο(mm–m)]. Dr. Eugene Skouras has ample research experience in 9 National-funded (Greek) and 9 EU-funded programs, in addition to 5 industrially-funded ones. Areas of interest include process study and simulation of fluid flow, diffusion and sorption across scales, as in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD with FEM and Meshless methods) in HemoDynamics [order of (cm)], as well as in water, oil and air flow, transport and sorption, in refrigeration/heat transport, in MagnetoHydroDynamics [Ο(m)] and nanofluids [O(nm-mm)], in the vicinity of porous (nano)ceramic semiconductors, sensors, and porous membranes [O(nm–µm)], particle detention and separation in granular filters [Ο(µm–mm)], and pollutant dispersion in underground formations [Ο(mm–m)]. He has published 45 scientific articles in prestigious peer reviewed journals, 51 proceedings in peer-reviewed international conferences, and 50 proceedings in national (Greek) conferences. He has extensive lecturing experience in Fluid Mechanics and Fluid Dynamics, Transport Phenomena, Numerical Methods, and Process Simulation, in the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering at the Univ. of the Peloponnese, the Dept. of Chemical Engineering at the Univ. of Patras, and the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering at the T.E.I. of Western Greece. His background in CFD and MHD with novel methods, in complex flow phenomena, and in biomedical applications guarantee the timely progress of research projects.
