Ioannis Giotopoulos holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Patras; an MSc in International and European Economic Studies from the Athens University of Economics and Business; and a BA in Economics from the University of Patras. Since July 2014 he has been working as an Assistant Professor of Microeconomics at the University of Peloponnese (Department of Economics). In November 2012 – July 2014 he was a Research Associate at the Foundation for Economics and Industrial Research (IOBE). He has been also served as a Research Fellow at the Bank of Greece in 2012-2013. In the 2010-2012 academic years he worked as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Peloponnese and the University of Central Greece and as a Scientific Collaborator at the Technological Educational Institute of Patras. His research work has been published in well-known academic journals such as Research Policy; Journal of Business Research; European Management Review; Small Business Economics; Journal of Technology Transfer; International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Research; International Entrepreneurship and Management Journal.

His research interests focus on Firm Innovation; Digital Entrepreneurship; Firm Performance and Strategy; Industry Dynamics.
