Foteini Tzavella is Associate Professor in Applied Sociology of Health and Dean at the School of Health Sciences at the University of Peloponnese, Greece. She graduated from the Department of Sociology, Panteion University and from the School of Pharmacy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She received her PhD from the University of Athens. She is member of the Board of Directors at the Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals (ΚΕΘΕΑ), member of the Board of Directors of the Greek Department of Amnesty International (AI), member (alt) at the Public Health Committee of Experts (ΕΕΔΥ), member (alt) of the Governing Council of the Institute of Child Health and member (alt) at the Steering Committee for Human Rights in the fields of Biomedicine and Health (CDBIO - Council of Europe). She has authored the books "Crises and Pandemics, environmental, bioethical and cultural interconnections in a changing society" (2023), "Society and Health in the 21st century, health, health services and research in a bioethical environment" (2019), "Notes of Ignorance" (2014) as well as many scientific articles and chapters in scientific books.
