This course aims to introduce students to clinical experience and teach them to associate academic knowledge with clinical practice. In this supervisory setting, students are trained in basic methods of assessing communication disorders, such as interviewing a parent (taking a history), conducting an oral-facial examination of children, using screening, standard, and non-standard assessment tools for the diagnosis of clinical cases, writing long- and short-term goals, writing assessment reports, writing session plans, applying speech-language therapy techniques, and collecting data in sessions. The emphasis in this clinical practice is on children with all types of disorders.
