The course introduces the spectrum of autistic disorders (ASD) and the functionality of autism according to the available taxonomic systems of mental disorders. Furthermore, the deficits in individuals‘ language and cognitive abilities will be presented, and the possible connection between them will be explored. Finally, we will offer alternative communication systems for autism and create social stories where the students can practice these aspects.
