Elina Roinioti is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Performing and Digital Arts at the University of Peloponnese in Greece. Her research interests include interactive storytelling, narrative design in games and digital arts, and the study of video game production, including cultural tropes and cultural policies. She holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Communication, Media, and Culture at Panteion University. From 2020 to 2022, she conducted postdoctoral research on Greek video game developers at Panteion University, funded by the National Scholarship Foundation.
Elina has lectured in undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Panteion University, the University of West Attica, the University of West Macedonia, and the University of Patras. She has also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Peloponnese. She has extensive experience in national and international research programs focused on social inclusion, immigration, political participation, gamification, and game design applications, collaborating with institutions such as Panteion University, the Centre for National Social Research, the University of Oslo, the University of Peloponnese, and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Elina has participated in game design and development projects and immersive experiences for national and international game festivals, such as Playpublik Krakow, and cultural institutions like Onassis Stegi and the National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens (EMST). Since 2015, she has worked as a scientific collaborator and consultant in digital games for both the private and public sectors.
Elina is the editor-in-chief of the edited book "Digital Games: Philosophical, Social and Cultural Investigations" (Oasis) and the co-author of the book "Digital Games and Learning" (Kallipos, 2023).
