Paraskevi Raftopoulou received her BSc degree in Computer Science from University of Crete in 2000. In 2003 she received a MSc degree in Computer Engineering and in 2009 she received a PhD degree in Information Management, both from Technical University of Crete.  During the periods October 2007 - December 2007 and March 2008 - July 2008 she joined the Databases and Information Systems Department at Max-Planck Institute for Informatics (MPII) as a visiting researcher under the supervisoin of Prof. Gerhard Weikum. Since August 2008 she acts as Research and Teaching staff at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of the Peloponnese, and as a member of the Software and Database Systems Laboratory (SoDa.Lab). Since 2000, she has participated or is actively participating in over 10 research projects funded by European or national funds. Finally, since July 2011 she is acting as an External evaluator for the FET-Open ICT Research Proposals in FP7 at the European Commission.

Since 2002, Paraskevi Raftopoulou has (co-)authored over 25 papers/articles, which have been published in peer-reviewed journals and conferences in her research areas of interest. Most of them can be found in her web page or (uncurated) at Google Scholar. Finally, she has supervised or is currently supervising 18 undergraduate and graduate student thesis, and has participated as a reviewer in more than 30 conferences and journals in her fields of interests.
