Polychronis Sifakakis received his Ph.D. from the Department of Social and Educational Policy at the University of Peloponnese, in 2016. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in curricular studies obtained from the same Department. He has worked in public primary schools as a teacher since 1992, has served for 4 years as Headteacher of the secondary Vocational School of Special Education (E.E.E.EK.) and from 2014 until 2018 served as School Advisor of Primary Education in Heraklion. From October 2020, he is a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff of the Department of Social and Education Policy of the University of Peloponnese. He also participates as an external partner in research and postgraduate programs and as a Personal Advisor for Practice in the Joint Program of Postgraduate Studies "Special Education" of the Universities of Patras and Nicosia. He has published articles in international scientific journals and has participated as a speaker in many conferences in Greece and abroad. His research at the level of his Doctoral Thesis and subsequently concerns with the response of Greece to European educational policies, focusing on the changes in education administration field, the forms of educational knowledge and practice that are promoted, as well as their effects on the issue of educational equity and the (re)formation of pedagogical identities.
