Vassiliki LALAGIANNI is Associate Professor of European Literature at the University of the Peloponnese (Greece), Department of Political Science and International Relations, where she teaches European literature, Women's writing, literature and ideology. She is an elected member of the Administrative Council of the International Council for Francophone Studies (2024-2027). She wrote her Ph.D. thesis on the novel and poetic works of Anna de Noailles (University of Metz, 1989). She has participated in various world conferences and published numerous articles on the Francophone world in Europe, women's writing, literature of migration and travel literature (French Forum, Interliterraria, Dalhousie French Studies, Francofonia, Neohelicon, etc). She has authored the book Women's Travels in the East in the 19e century (Athens, Roés, 2007, in Greek), edited the volume Femmes écrivains en Méditerranée (Paris, Publisud, 1999) and co-edited La Francophonie dans les Balkans. Les voix des femmes (Paris, Publisud, 2005), Espace méditerannéen. Ecriture de l’exil, migrance et discours postcolonial (Amsterdam/NY, éd.Rodopi, 2014, avec Jean-Marc Moura), Voyage et Idéologie. Les politiques de la mobilité (Montrouge, éd. du bourg, 2022). Her research interests include women's writing, travel literature and the literatures of exile and migration.
